Kryolan VIVA Brilliant Color Medley Eyeshadow ‘Blue Berry’ Review, Swatch, FOTD

Kryolan VIVA Brilliant Color Medley shadow ‘Blue Berry’ Review, Swatch, FOTD

Hey all!

Today’s post features a gorgeous looking eyeshadow from Kryolan! Remember my first few Kryolan purchases from Kryolan city Bandra, which I blogged HERE? Yes, it happened that long back but blame my laziness which took me so much time to finally experiment with the shadow! Even I got few base products whose reviews are pending! I promise they will be up super soon :)

Anyways, coming back to the topic of today’s discussion- Kryolan VIVA Brilliant Color Medley shadow in the shade ‘Blue Berry’!

Price: INR 350 for 3.5gm

Before I start with the actual review, let’s take a moment to admire the gorgeous GORGEOUS shadow! How beautiful does the color look in the pan? I am a digger for blues and greens and I have all my heart for this super pretty greenish blue/ peacock blue shade. Storing the pan is little difficult though, especially if you are a newbie with eyeshadows like me, who does not own too many of them. Still you can always use your empty containers and make it work, until you get an empty magnetized palette!

Ok, done with blabbering about the good things… now coming to the disappointing part. The shadow is not as creamy and pigmented as I had expected. It is somewhat dry and color payoff is not that intense, despite being a dark bright shade. I literally had to scratch the surface with my finger so that my brush could pick some color! In the hand swatch the color still looks somewhat vivid and bright, but on my lids it was a real task to make this beautiful color pop! I tried using Essence eyeshadow primer in one lid and Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in the other lid underneath the shadow, but that did not help much! Finally I did dampen my flat brush with some makeup setting spray and that made quite an amount of difference, but not up to my expectations! I have heard rave reviews about this range of shadows… so I had set a high expectation already! But this is heart breaking.

The shadow appears matte in the pan but it actually has fine golden shimmer to it which makes it even more beautiful! I love the shade hands down, but the dry texture and semi pigmented finish are real deal breaker! I have used better quality shadows in the past which comes at even cheaper rate than this. You can check out the review of this beautiful eyeshadow quad from Essence HERE, to get what I mean.

Rating: 3/5 (only because of the shade)

P.S: Kryolan products are finally available online HERE. Do check them out. Their base makeup products and brushes are of top notch quality and comes at unbelievably cheap prices. I will be reviewing such a base makeup product soon! Stay tuned for that.

XOXO
