After reviewing the amazing Matte As Hell Lip Crayon ‘Holly Golightly’ from Sugar Cosmetics HERE, today I am back to review another lip product from the same brand - SUGAR It's A-Pout Time! Vivid Lipstick 02 ‘Breaking Bare’.
" Breaking Bare is a rose pink matte lip colour shade for the romantic woman. You’re the quintessential girl-next-door with a vivacious personality and an angelic smile. A die-hard romantic, you wear your heart on your sleeve and take relationships pretty seriously. Feminine and charming, we bet you’ll carry off this everyday pink shade like you two were soul mates "
See how cutely they pack their products and put so much effort in naming and describing them! Good job Sugar people, really appreciate it :)
The lipstick comes in a sleek black matte finished tube having the brand name and shade name printed on it. The lipstick goes all the way down and closes with a click, therefore makes sure that there is no chance of breakage or anything! The bullet has a flat top which makes the application very precise.
The texture is somewhat different than their lip crayons. It has a creamy gel kind of feel to it which glides very smoothly and does not settle into fine lines. The finish is satin matte which feels very comfortable on my dry lips. And what I like the most about this lippie is, it sort of blurs out the lines on lips and makes it look flawless, unlike many matte lip colors! See the below lip swatch to know what I mean.
|Left: Breaking Bare, Right: Holly Golightly. As you can see, Holy Golightly is a true peachy nude, whereas Breaking Bare is more pigmented!|
The brand describes the shade as rosy pink. Lipstick colors actually vary from person to person depending on skin tone and original lip color. On my lips it is a beautiful dusty pink shade with a hint of mauve. It is a perfect everyday shade. It is a bit too pigmented to call it a nude shade, at least on me. But it is a lovely neutral matte shade with fantastic wearable formula! One thing I like the most about the Sugar lipsticks are, being an Indian brand they always get the shades right! So most of their lipsticks suit everyone- starting from the fairest to the duskiest.
Staying power is quite good. Being a matte formula it does not bleed or smudge much and stays for a decent span of 4-5 hours.
