SaND for Soapaholics 'Lal Kela' Hair Mask Review

SaND for Soapaholics 'Lal Kela' Hair Mask Review

Hey all!

I have been straightening and coloring my hair since last couple of years. So I make sure I do take good care of my tresses so that they can stay healthy after all that stress they go through. I generally do not experiment with shampoo and conditioner much. I tend to stick to the ones my hair stylist recommended and are designed for chemically treated hair.

However I have my own share of hair issues. I have slightly itchy scalp and I keep getting occasional dandruff. Also my hair shafts are quite dry and all these chemical treatments has made them even more drier over the years…

I love using hair masks and when I came across this Lal Kela mask from SaND for Soapaholics, it seemed to be custom made for me keeping my hair concerns in mind! I have been using it very frequently for last 2 weeks and today I am here to share my experience!

What the brand says…

My Experience:

Starting with the packaging! The product comes housed in a golden yellow plastic tub, which is Sand’s signature packaging. Though some might have issue with the tub, but I feel this is the most convenient packaging for a hair mask. Also there is a second lid inside which further prevents any kind of spillage.

Coming to the original product, it is a dark greenish smooth paste. The presence of different kinds of essential oils is very evident. It smells like freshly grinded cinnamon stick infused with exotic oils which I love!

Application process is really simple and fuss free. First I apply it on my scalp by taking the product on my fingertips and them massaging a bit on the scalp. Once that is done, I take little more product and apply it on hair shafts!  Due to the smooth texture, it does not lead to any wastage/mess while application. It is advisable to wrap the hair with a hot towel post application, but that is optional. I keep it on for 30-45 minutes and then rinse with shampoo followed by conditioner.

Immediately after application, I feel a faint burning/tingling sensation on my scalp which is very bearable and settles down after couple of minutes.  I actually take it as a good sign which indicates that the product is actually working. I already said that I love how the product smells which lingers in my hair for some time after shampoo!

Coming to the results, it actually does what it all claims to do. My tresses are no doubt more shiny and healthy than before. Also I was experiencing a bit of hair fall off late which I see is reducing gradually (touchwood)! Earlier my hair used to get very oily and limp just after one day of washing, because of the dandruff and itchiness that I had. But now my second day hair looks so good that I don’t feel the need to shampoo! Last but not the least, I have been getting very less to almost negligible amount of breakouts and acne because my scalp is lot more clean and healthy! Yes I do believe that your skin issues are directly related to your hair problems! If you have pimples/acne issues, first thing you should check is if you have dandruff! If yes then cure your dandruff first. Otherwise there is no way you can get rid of acnes. So this hair mask is indirectly doing good to my skin as well by keeping my scalp healthy!
