Maybelline Colossal Liner Black Review, Swatch, FOTD

Maybelline Colossal Liner Black Review, Swatch, FOTD

Hey girls!

If there is a choice between eye liner and kajal, I would pick kajal any day! I am a true kohl girl like a typical bong. I have huge eyes and without some hint of kajal or kohl along my lower lash line, I look sick or sleep deprived!

So you might have understood by now that, I try and test every possible kohl pencils around but my eye liner collection is not that interesting! So lately I felt that I should have one good basic black eye liner in my collection so that I can experiment with some different eye makeup looks! After a bit of research I zeroed on this liner because it comes from a trusted brand Maybelline and also I have seen tons of good reviews about it on other blogs :)

So today’s story is about my experience with this eye liner!

What I say:

I love the pen style packaging! The black slim tube with the black cap looks exactly like a regular pen! Back in my school college days when I was a student, I had a very strong fetish for pens! So it is not a surprise that am so much in love with the packaging!

The Applicator:

The flexible felt tip applicator demands special mention! The tip is firm enough to give a sharp defined line. Again, due to flexible nature it helps achieving lines with different thickness! Also, because of the ease of application, it is possible to draw line very close to the lash line which is a big thumbs up! If you are a beginner with eyeliner application or you struggle with drawing precise line due to shaky hand, get this liner! I bet this will change your eyeliner game.

The liner dries very quickly to a semi matte finish! Neither flat matte, not too glossy. once set, it does not smudge or flake off! Also, it is waterproof.

It is a true black liquid liner and one or two swipes are good enough to give opaque line.

Staying Power:

I get full day wear time out of it! It does not flake or crack over time. It definitely fades and color intensity reduces, but does not look patchy that way.

Quick Checkpoints:

Thumbs Up:
  • Nice packaging
  • Ease of application
  • Good wear time
  • Does not flake off or crack
  • Water proof
  • Transfer proof

Wearing as a winged liner !!

Thumbs Down:

  • Pricey!! Keeping the colossal kajal and mascara in mind, I think it should have been priced around 350.
  • Sometimes it requires repeated swipes to get opaque line.
Final Word:

As they say, makeup is all about experimenting! Until you try and experiment, you will never know what works for you and what not! I have been hooked to this liner ever since I got it! It has become my everyday essential! The best thing about it is definitely the ease of application! That way it gives lot of room for experiment! Winged liner, cat eye liner … and many more!
