Before this, MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation was the only product I was using to do my base on a daily basis. But I have already hit the pan and would be finishing it anytime soon. So I was desperately on a search for a backup. Seeing lot of positive reviews on other blogs, I was curious to give this L'Oreal one a try! Needless to mention, the eye catching pink packaging was another deal making factor. L’Oreal product generally fares well on me and the pricing is really decent. So without giving much thought, I just went ahead and purchased this.

Being a makeup enthusiast, nothing makes me happier when I find my new makeup purchase turning out to be lot more worth than the money I have invested purchasing it. I have been using this since past two weeks and let me tell you guys, I am obsessed with it. Read on to know more…

What L’Oreal says about the Product:
The first magical matte all-in-one powder infused with volcanic perlite, a natural yet powerful sebum absorbant. Magical result: Primes, perfects and brightens.

Price: INR 399 for 6gm (Can you believe this? )

My Experience with the Product:

Packaging:
It comes housed in a bright fuchsia pink round pan. Inside there are two compartments. The first one holds the product itself. Once you flip it, there will be one huge round mirror and a sponge in the bottom compartment. The lid shuts securely enough to carry it around without worrying about spillage. The plastic material is quite sturdy and it has already survived few fall downs. The mirror is huge and high quality, comes handy for touch ups on the go. The sponge also gets its job done and retains its original shape after washing.

Shades:
L’Oreal has nailed it! They have classified the shades in two categories, G and N based on undertones. G is for warm and N is for neutral undertones. There are 6 shades in total. N6 is a bang on match with my MAC NC30 skin!

Texture and Formulation:
The powder is really soft and smooth. It blends well without going patchy or powdery. I tried layering it on to get more coverage and it looked quite good that way! It does not feel drying at all on my combination skin but still I make sure to moisturize well before working with this.

It claims to act as a primer too. Well, I have quite a few open pores on my nose. Even though it doesn’t hide them completely, but it kind of blurs their appearance. It claims to perfect blemishes as well. I have few light acne scars and this powder provides enough coverage to hide them to some extent. But if you have serious blemishes and dark circles then you will need a separate concealer underneath. The most striking feature it possesses is the oil control property. Generally for everyday makeup, I keep my routine pretty simple with only sunscreen concealer and compact powder. I feel the need to touch up with powder after 3-4 hours to get rid of the shine. My T-zone is oily and compact powder is something I always make sure to carry. But ever since I started using this one, things has changed. With this on, I barely get oiliness or shine which I need to touch-up with powder!

It has SPF 34 and PA+++ . So if you are out for long and if reapplying sunscreen seems to be messy then all you need to do is take a little powder on the puff and dab it on your exposed body parts. Tada! you are sun protected!! How cool is that?

Wear Time:
On bare skin, it stays for an average time span of 7-8 hours which is pretty good. I am sure it will be little longer with primer on. It is waterproof and transfer-proof. I do gym with this on and at the end I can still see it on my face, even after sweating terribly.

Summing up pros and cons for quick reference:

Likes:
  1. Great oil control
  2. Good coverage
  3. Good shade range
  4. Soft creamy texture
  5. Waterproof and transfer-proof
  6. Nice packaging, mirror and puff are of good quality
  7. Within budget
Dislikes:
NONE, NONE, NONE !!!
Final Verdict:
This is one of the best compact powders I have had by far. Right from the packaging to the smooth texture, decent coverage and oil controlling, it ticks all the right boxes. Formula is great for oil controlling and on the other hand does not feel drying. So it will work for all irrespective of skin type, as per me. So next time when you go purchasing a compact, you should definitely keep this in your checklist, ladies!! It is pretty awesome!!
